Event [v1]

Description

Event is a report of an event somewhere in the cluster. Events have a limited retention time and triggers and messages may evolve with time. Event consumers should not rely on the timing of an event with a given Reason reflecting a consistent underlying trigger, or the continued existence of events with that Reason. Events should be treated as informative, best-effort, supplemental data.

Type
`object`
Required
  • metadata
  • involvedObject

Specification

PropertyTypeDescription
actionstringWhat action was taken/failed regarding to the Regarding object.
apiVersionstringAPIVersion defines the versioned schema of this representation of an object. Servers should convert recognized schemas to the latest internal value, and may reject unrecognized values. More info: https://git.k8s.io/community/contributors/devel/sig-architecture/api-conventions.md#resources
countintegerThe number of times this event has occurred.
eventTimeMicroTimeTime when this Event was first observed.
firstTimestampTimeThe time at which the event was first recorded. (Time of server receipt is in TypeMeta.)
involvedObjectobjectObjectReference contains enough information to let you inspect or modify the referred object.
kindstringKind is a string value representing the REST resource this object represents. Servers may infer this from the endpoint the client submits requests to. Cannot be updated. In CamelCase. More info: https://git.k8s.io/community/contributors/devel/sig-architecture/api-conventions.md#types-kinds
lastTimestampTimeThe time at which the most recent occurrence of this event was recorded.
messagestringA human-readable description of the status of this operation.
metadataObjectMetaStandard object’s metadata. More info: https://git.k8s.io/community/contributors/devel/sig-architecture/api-conventions.md#metadata
reasonstringThis should be a short, machine understandable string that gives the reason for the transition into the object’s current status.
relatedobjectObjectReference contains enough information to let you inspect or modify the referred object.
reportingComponentstringName of the controller that emitted this Event, e.g. kubernetes.io/kubelet.
reportingInstancestringID of the controller instance, e.g. kubelet-xyzf.
seriesobjectEventSeries contain information on series of events, i.e. thing that was/is happening continuously for some time.
sourceobjectEventSource contains information for an event.
typestringType of this event (Normal, Warning), new types could be added in the future

.involvedObject

Description

ObjectReference contains enough information to let you inspect or modify the referred object.

Type
`object`
PropertyTypeDescription
apiVersionstringAPI version of the referent.
fieldPathstringIf referring to a piece of an object instead of an entire object, this string should contain a valid JSON/Go field access statement, such as desiredState.manifest.containers[2]. For example, if the object reference is to a container within a pod, this would take on a value like: "spec.containers{name}" (where "name" refers to the name of the container that triggered the event) or if no container name is specified "spec.containers[2]" (container with index 2 in this pod). This syntax is chosen only to have some well-defined way of referencing a part of an object.
kindstringKind of the referent. More info: https://git.k8s.io/community/contributors/devel/sig-architecture/api-conventions.md#types-kinds
namestringName of the referent. More info: https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/overview/working-with-objects/names/#names
namespacestringNamespace of the referent. More info: https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/overview/working-with-objects/namespaces/
resourceVersionstringSpecific resourceVersion to which this reference is made, if any. More info: https://git.k8s.io/community/contributors/devel/sig-architecture/api-conventions.md#concurrency-control-and-consistency
uidstringUID of the referent. More info: https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/overview/working-with-objects/names/#uids

fieldValidationstringfieldValidation instructs the server on how to handle objects in the request (POST/PUT/PATCH) containing unknown or duplicate fields. Valid values are: - Ignore: This will ignore any unknown fields that are silently dropped from the object, and will ignore all but the last duplicate field that the decoder encounters. This is the default behavior prior to v1.23. - Warn: This will send a warning via the standard warning response header for each unknown field that is dropped from the object, and for each duplicate field that is encountered. The request will still succeed if there are no other errors, and will only persist the last of any duplicate fields. This is the default in v1.23+ - Strict: This will fail the request with a BadRequest error if any unknown fields would be dropped from the object, or if any duplicate fields are present. The error returned from the server will contain all unknown and duplicate fields encountered.
